I'm thinking about putting a steering wheel cover on my stock steering wheel.

I measured the steering wheel at about 17". Seems like I need to figure out the right width. Anybody have the dimensions needed to get a good fit?

Found one that states a large one that fits 16" to 18" by 3 1/2.

    I looked most everywhere for a cover for the skinny wheel, no luck. I finally broke down and bought one from IPD. It comes with needle and thread and is real leather.

    It took me about 2-3 hours to install. It should be done in warm weather to keep the leather flexible, I would also treat it with conditioner (sparingly) before putting it on. It is a tight fit and will never slip.

    It doesn't seem like much, but it made a world of difference! Much easier to turn the wheel due to the great grip, and, more comfortable to hold at any temperature. IPD only comes in black, IIRC.

    IPD sells one for the 122. It's just a WheelSkins sew-up leather one, but I believe they have it custom made to the proper diameter. It adds a nice amount of extra thickness to the rim, and a good bit of grip as well. Looks nice if you take your time installing it. Mine has held up fine, but it's only a year old.

      Wheelskins. I have two of these. They take awhile to install but are way nicer than anything else I've seen. They are really like the cover I put on my 51 MG back in the early 60s. There are other places besides IPD to get them, just gogle wheelskins.

        Do you know the width needed for the 122 steering wheel? I get 2-3/4 inches.

          Is the IPD one markedly more expensive than ordering a universal one by size? I'm pretty sure the one offered by IPD is custom-cut to the proper size to eliminate all the guesswork and give you a nice snug fit. It had a sticker on the regular Wheelskins box that seemed to indicate as much.
