OT: Volvo to drop wagon models in the US

Per this report at Fortune: http://money.cnn.com/2011/02/15/autos/death_station_wagon.fortune/

Hard to believe they only moved 480 V50s last year. That said, they will continue the XC line, so it's not as though you won't see 'effectively' Volvo wagons all over.

Volvo didn't drop the wagons. The new S60 will be marketed in wagon form staarting in July, the V60 with IL6 FWD and IL6 twin turbo AWD.

Yawn. I don't suppose that we will ever buy another Volvo that isn't RWD.

That's sad. I think wagons make a lot of sense, much more so than the sedan body built on the same platform (why not have more capacity?). The V50 must have been a slow seller, and here in Mississippi, I have never seen one. For that matter, I think I have never seen a C30 coupe, either.
