Variable Idle Speed 200 1990

Recently replaced the air tube between air mass and throttle stuff, as the old one fit loosely and had a split.

Car runs great, but at times the idle has a mind of its own (drops to 450 and then the engine dies). Seems random (cold, hot).

Have no idea what the tube replacement would have to do with this. Perhaps there are other components that could be the likely culprit.

The temperature here right now is between 40 and 60 F.

Thank you!

Take the throttle body off the intake manifold and clean it. Then, just under the intake manifold, remove the idle air control valve and clean it out. Once those items are cleaned and reinstalled, adjust the throttle position switch.

Also, check for other vacuum hose leaks.
