OEM Tail Light and bumper trim source 200

Really aggravated. My tenant backed into my 240 this morning, breaking the tail light and destroying the bumper trim piece on the driver's side of the car. He scraped a mint bumper cover too. I scanned Ebay looking for some decent used parts to replace the original perfect pieces that I had, but all I saw was import crap. Is there any other place I can look? IPD and FCP have URO replacements, but I heard that they were junk too.

Driver's side is the easiest side to convert a pre-1985 tail light into a post 1985 type. You need the proper circuit board, (yours should be OK) and a sharp knife.

Lay the 6xxxxx p/n circuit board on the tail light housing, and use the knife to trim off one or two of the little sharp points that keep the board in place so that the board lays flat. Transfer the bulb holders and test the unit.

Worked for me. It's the passenger side that is almost imposssible to convert.

This should give you more choices from eBay or such.

Good Luck,

Bob

Hi,

If you cannot find any good used taillights your best bet is probably Tasca, do you have the chrome or black trim ones? If I remember correctly I think the chrome ones are approx. $130 and the black ones are $160 for some reason.

I don't have any experience with the URO tailights but the Estonia made ones from Ebay will give you troubles and the police will too when you get pulled over constantly because of the intermittent bad connection-I know.

My car had one of the Estonia units on it when I got it and it literally fell apart; that's one of the things that's annoying me. When I parted out a 92 a few years back, it had perfect black outline CIBIE tailights that I transferred to my '87. Last year someone at the Home Depot ran a cart into the passenger one, destroying it, but I found a pretty good used one online to replace it. I really want to find some original ones if I can.
