I hope I'm not violating board rules by showing this CL ad. I'm not the seller but just wanted to show this overhauled '78

PS: Here's another way to make a 240 wagon worth (probably, by auction's close) $19K:
Time Capsule '93 245 wagon on eBay

'63 PV544 rat rod, '93 Classic #1141 245 (now w/16V turbo)

I saw that one. Really incredible. I wish I had a time machine and some patience.

That's a sort of confusing car. It looks built to handle 1200 hp, something really serious, but then it 'just' has a 410 hp crate motor stuck in it. 410 hp sounds like a lot, but really, you don't need to build the rest of the car up like that to handle 410 hp.

I suspect it originally had some actual epic HP mill under the hood, and that motor exploded, and they jsut stuck a relatively cheap crate motor in it so it would be complete, and now they're trying to sell it off.

My 245's closing in on 400 hp (hopefully after the next round of modifications) and it's still got the 2.3L Volvo motor in it!

That was exactly my thought... why only 410hp.

That said... looks like it's ready for some serious engine mods.

And reasonably tastefully done in my opinion. Nice touch on using a proper shift selector.

Nice color too :)

that thing is pretty beastly...

kind of a fail for me that its a/t, like if the pics were shown in a slideshow with some loud ballsy rock music, as soon as it gets to the pic showing the a/t gear selector the music would cut out and a big "wah-wah" from a trumpet would blast out.

but its quite a BA wagon, thats for sure

I definetly do not like the hood scoop, not only looks unsightly, IMO, but advertises the fact it's a "hot rod" . Other than that, I think I would remove the nitrous setup, but that's just me.

the fact that it's been tubbed kinda wrecks the 'sleeper' aspect too ;)
