Seems I found or saw at one time a way to get codes to read on the dash board as a way to do diagnostics through error codes stored in the control unit.

I am finding nothing now.

I see a reference to FAQ but it does not look like what I recall and excludes the LH-Jetronic 2.2 fuel injection system.

It looks like codes started with LH-Jetronic 2.4.

Am I dreaming?

To my knowledge the 1988 240's had no OBD at all.

Thanks Bob.

I've been pouring over what books I have (Haynes and some Volvo green books) and am forced to agree with you ... I was dreaming ... it sure was realistic.

I could of swore there was some way of getting a flashing code to read on the dash board.
