I've got a wire going to the right front ABS sensor on my 95 960 that managed to find it's way to a spot that got itself pinched through pretty bad and while I was pulling the strut on that side, it broke apart rather nastily.
Can you repair those wires OK , I.e. solder in a patch and heat shrink sleeve, or will it throw strange readings back to the ABS brain if the wiring isn't consistant on both sides.

There's nothing about the repair method that could affect electrical performance. Any way you join them will make it a wire again. Extrapolating from my 240 experience, I assume the 940 doesn't use shielded wire at the ABS sensors, but the wire is probably fine strand count and silicone insulation (to stay flexible in the cold) so the only way you can make it worse is to do something that won't last in that harsh environment down there.

Thanks. Looks like I may not have to find out. Just checked the upullit online inventory and they just got a '96 in. Now to drive 50 miles and find out if the blamed thing is correct

...Well it's *usually* accurate, but sometimes they get days like today when one of the new guys who can't tell a volvo from a honda civic and sends the blamed thing they just bought to the crusher before anyone has a chance to pick anything off it and that gets aggravating.
