Old Lady Status 444-544

Hi guys. All is well here. I am getting married in May (7th) to the beautiful Ms. Jennifer and I plan to have the car (58 Volvo PV444) finished by then.

The car is currently at First Landing Autocare in Virginia Beach (http://firstlandingautocare.com/ or on FB at http://www.facebook.com/#!/firstlandingautocare) getting some last-minute things finished and the car buttoned up - well at least enough for it to be available for me and Jenn to drive off into the sunset :) It will still need the flooring installed, headliner, etc. That will happen over the summer.

If interested, check out the latest pictures on my website (http://www.scarolas.com/58VolvoPV444/) for details.

Mark Anderton (shop owner) is taking good care of her but it seems I'm missing a few small items such as the tag light blubs and clear plastic lenses which cover them - mine were overheated and melted a long time ago it seems. Any thoughts as to where I can find these items?

    Old Lady Status 444-544

Ok guys. I'm down to needing one door striker plate. I bought one this morning from Atilla in Suffolk (aka Lorincity on eBay). Its in pretty good shape although it needs a little TLC and paint before I can install it. I might have a lead for another one from Olof (Vintage Import Parts) or my good friend Cameron Price up in Canada. Hopefully one of these come through soon, before the wedding, else I won't be able to use the Old Lady as the get-away car on May 7th. :)

I heard from the glass guy this morning. Amazingly he's going to install the new windshield tomorrow down at the shop. This is really a shock for me because I gave him my old front windshield glass last October, he lost them, failed to return calls for weeks and weeks, and now is coming through.

I also heard from Mark, the owner of First Landing Auto Care (they're the awesome folks buttoning up the car before the wedding). He tells me that he found 6v sealed beam headlights down at NAPA and getting them installed tomorrow. He's also fixed the door seals (apparently I installed them backwards, sigh) and he's done a bunch of other things which I'm extremely grateful for. I'm very happy with them.

The car has been titled, registered, insured and I now have the official plates!! I'm so excited and can't wait to drive away my bride in May. :)

    Old Lady Status update 444-544

    Thank you guys.

For an update, I did find a source for the license plate tag light bulbs, and I did research part numbers for the lenses. They are Hella K2807, Volvo pn 655362 or Saab pn 710882. Unfortunately i cannot find any online but will continue searching.

If anyone knows of a source for these, please let me know.

    Thank you again.
