Sender Float Ball 200 1984

Soooo... fuel sender float ball did NOT want to come up and out with the rest of the intank pump assembly.

Spent some time fishing the ball out, didn't suceed, gave up (it won't harm the fuel flow anyway) so I am in the market for a float ball for the sending unit.

What sucks is Milwaukee hardly has any parts for volvos to begin with. Pickyards close by the time I get off from work. Also, I am moving in a month and need to get the 242 to my new place. Sure, I can just put in the sending unit w/o the float ball, but what fun is it really to open that thing up again to stick the dang ball back on the unit.

Anyone have a Fuel Sender Floaty Ball?

I had the same problem once. I took a metal coat hanger, straightened it out then on the end made a circle bent to 90 degrees to the long handle end. It was like dipping easter eggs to color them only you came underneath the ball and pulled it up and out. Just rocking the car back and forth to see the ball floating around within reach with a flashlight. Try it, it really works.
Patent pending of course, but you have my permission to use it. Good luck fishing.

I'm not sure about the calibration "accuracy", but I have seen wine bottle corks used as replacements in a pinch. Just a thought.

I have found that a cork from a fine bottle of Merlot enhances the bouquet of 87 octane fuel....
