The alternator is in the same place where the generator used to be,,,
I did not buy the special kit,, about 5 years ago I was having charging problems with the Bosch gen and took the car to a very good starter/generator shop in town,, old school owner that has seen everything,, he told me that I could go with new brushes and refurbish the brass bearings(I think) and it will be fine,, or "I can adapt you an Delco 55 amp alternator so you can have some good bright lights" and that was the convincing point,, before this I bought overseas on a trip a pair of 7" Cibie-Valeo H4 lights with Halogen bulbs and installed them and they were good,, after the alternator they were GREAT!!!
The AC project is going slow,, I have practically everything,, I did not go the vintage evaporator way for one reason,, I just could not find a decent unit to install,,,I saw some on Ebay and they looked like they just came back from a war.I got one of those new small universal underdash units locally from a shop the was going out of business and cost me 40 bucks,,I,ve got the double groove crank pulley and the tensioner bracket/pully and the complete bracket for the York compressor,,a friend of mine has this:

installed in a MGB Coupe for the last 4 years with no problems,,(I saw an ad in a volvo magazine of some guy that makes these brackets for the B-18 engine,, but they are quite pricey),,, I'm going to have all this done and completed this winter for next summer,,,I don't use that car at all during the hot southern summers,,, between Oct. and April it is a 50% daily driver....
