Or magnetic lights like the wrecker use attached to the trunk... humor added just to make Art's point. I have always been able to make them work but they never stay that way without maint at least once per year.

How bad is your problem. Sometimes just loosening the socket a bit to make contact with an unused section of the circuit board will get your lights back on.
