Fuel pump relay replacement options? 1800

Hi,

So I've been testing my relays before I go out and buy a new pump and was using the fuel injection guide at
http://volvo1800pictures.com/sweden/Volvo_1800_dokumentation_main_page_en.php

I'm pretty sure its the fuel pump relay but just wanted to check what others have used as a current model replacement. I was searching around and came across this site
http://classicgarage.com/vo1818fupure.html

they suggest the Hella HE-87118 although thats a 30a relay and the one I took out of the car is a Bosch 0332 003 021 10a

any info on whats worked for others much appreciated.

Gord

Fuel pump relay replacement options? 1800

Hello,

The fuel pump relay is a simple 10 amp relay and you should be able to find 1 cheaper than $14.00, possibly at a car audio/alarm shop.

Your old relay is a 10 amp relay which means it can handle a 10 amp load.

Most replacement relays are rated for more amps and are just fine as replacements for this application.

Also, if your old relay is an original style relay, you will have to remove the special plug that holds 2 of the wires to accommodate the different pin configuration on the easily available replacement relays.

You do not have to cut the wires to remove them from the plug if you bend the lock tabs for each connector inside the plug.

Those lock tabs retain each wire into the plug.
