Common parts with a 240 700 1987

I have two 1988 240's that I'm scrapping and was wondering what, if any, parts can be used on my 1987 740 turbo.

Are the engine blocks the same?

Yes, the block will fit and the trans, and wheels, but that's about it. Oh, maybe the speakers. Taillight bulbs. Um... yeah. Gas cap. Coolant cap. Not much.

N/A blocks don't have the oil return port and their pistons are different. -- Dave

True, which is why I said the 'block' would fit. I guess I could have made that clearer. Early ones didn't have an oiled turbo so no port. Pistons are dished in turbos so there is performance loss if they are used NA.

Here's a few thing I know won't change over to your turbo. ECU, Fuel computer, injectors, fuel pressure regulator. Most everything else will. If you go up rockauto.com. Once you select a part, it gives info on what yr and model it will apply to.
