2/Mufflers? 700 1987

Here I go again sorry:

The Cat. Converter was stolen from my 87 turbo 760 4cyl. My being over 65 I don't need to pass emmissions so I do not need a converter,I noticed when replacing the exhaust pipe there was 2 mufflers both of them needs replacing the muffler guy said I really didn't need but 1.

why are there 2 mufflers?will having only 1 effect performance?

Thanks

It's not 2 mufflers one is called a resonator, yes you can live without all of it but you will end up at a custom exhaust shop to have pipes made.

both have the pipes that fit together to go over the axle. And the hangers are usually on the new pipes, not the rubbers the part they go on. the install is a breeze.

when I got mine it had rusted out aftermarket junk, I found the factory stainless steel exhaust in the bone yard it wasn't perfect but it only cost me 40.00 cat back.
