Fuel Line Question (1996 960) 900 1996

Hello All,

I have a leaky fuel line. There is a green metal hose coming from the firewall of the car and there are two fittings that connect together. From the forward fitting, there is a fuel line that goes directly to the fuel rail. That is the line that is leaking up near the metal fitting, opposite end from the fuel rail. Where might I get one of those and do they sell them with the metal fitting, or do I need to attach it to the fitting myself?

Thanks,
Chris Eaker

    Fuel Leak (1996 960)

So tightening the fitting didn’t work after all?

You need to find where the leak is, and only then do you know what to buy.

      Fuel Line Question (1996 960) 900 1996

Well, tightening the fitting stopped it for about 3 days, so we thought that did it, but now it seems like the leak is coming from the where the hose connects to the fitting.

        Fuel Line Question (1996 960) 900 1996

        Well,

If you think that the metal tube is leaking, then you really should replace the whole assembly. There are ways to rig it up, and you might also be able to re-flare the metal tube with a flaring tool, but really what I would do at the dealership would be to replace the entire fuel line. Also, you might try polishing the surface between the flare fitting and the tube.
