240; '93 ECU into '89? 200

So despite changing and checking nearly every sensor and part I can think of my car still runs very rich, backfires, etc.. And not one single code!!!

I have an ECU from a '93 240 that I would like to swap in, the broken car is an '89 240, anyone know if this will work?

Well the computer works but the car still runs horribly.

This is ridiculous!

Yes, it should work. The '93 ECU will probably be a -951 and your 89 probably still has a -561 in it. The -951 will work, and many consider it an upgrade, at least in reliability. Check the numbers.

Hi,

I think it should as long as the 93 is LH 2.4 fuel injection. You could also compare the #'s on the ECUs.

No, 1989 is LH2.2 and 1993 is LH2.4.

No, 1989 was the first year for LH 2.4 in the non-turbo.

Woops, One of my typical brain malfunctions. I was thinking of a 1989 Volvo 740 turbo.
