Locating Oil Drain plug 1990 740 Turbo Wagon 700 1990

Hi everyone, I totally feel like an idiot here, but here's my question:

Doing the oil change on my new 740, keeping an eye on the Chilton manual, their pictures for the drain plug for the oil look nothing like anything under my car. There is a rectangular pan that the dipstick for the AutoTrans goes into, and a round orange one with a much bigger plug/bolt in the bottom than anyone describes (bigger than 17mm). Am I not looking in the right place? Or are one of these the pan?

FYI. Don't gorilla the drain plug when tightening. The pan is soft metal. (STRIP IT OUT) Definitely get new copper washer. Any autoparts should carry it. You'll probably have to take you bolt in, or get a couple different sizes. Someone here may know the proper size.

The Volvo red block motors--both OHV and OHC have used a drain plug that requires a 1" wrench or socket for about a zillion years. That's the one on the "orange" (supposed to be red) pan in front of the transmission. They use a copper sealing washer--good to have one on hand in case the old one is too beat up. -- Dave
