Ignition (switch?) has a problem. S90-V90 1998

My Vovo has decided to not start. All the lights work and it has been fine until now. When I turn the key to start it does nothing - no crank, no sound at all. This has happened twice before, over the last several months, but I was able to futz with it for a few minutes and, finally, it would fire up, but not this time.

Battery is good and nearly new (April) and starter is always strong, never a hesitation.

Anyone have an idea of what might be wrong?

Many thanks! ... John

ANSWER Ignition (switch?) has a problem. S90-V90 1998

Try holding the key in the "start' position with your left hand and slowly move the gearshift lever (foot on the brake of course) with your right hand and see if the starter engages. If it does, your PNP sensor may be causing the problem, if it doesn't, it could be the ignition switch. I had a bad one on my 98 S90 but I had different symptoms.
