Hello there. I've been posting here about the mysterious gravely sound that has made driving this car miserable. Turns out that as the years march on, the PO had some exhaust work done. This, while the motor mounts and especially the transmission mount was collapsed. When I replaced all the mounts (very nice now! the entire exhaust system was slammed up against the center support and the body of the car, underside. It was NASTY. Today, I couldn't take it anymore. Saw a muffler shop that was doing no business, and swung in. They removed an offending piece of pipe and cut a nice piece to go in it's place. Changed the entire geometry of the exhaust system. They installed all the correct Volvo hangers I had in a box, and now, lovliness!

With the new Michelins and a fresh set of genuine sheep skins, the ride is what it should be. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.....was all I could say on the way home.
