IAC and rough idle 200 1990

1990 245 DL.

Hello Bricksters

My 90 245 is idling rough and sometimes hesitates a bit on take off. I have pulled codes 2-3-2 and 2-3-1 from the ECU. I removed the IAC and gave it 12 VDC and the shutter rotates. However, and this is my question, when the IAC is un powered there is a small gap that allows air to pass at all times. Is this normal? I never had the IAC out before.

Any information is appreciated.

Fred

The gap is normal, make sure it is nice and clean along with the throttle body.

Thanks Dan for the info.
I kinda thought it might be normal to have a gap considering how it works.

Now back to chasing 2-3-3-2 and 2-3-1

Those codes are non specific, could be rich or lean. Check for vacuum leaks and leaks in the air intake side of the engine between the AMM and throttle body.
