AC hose: compressor to condensor 900 1991

My AC hose is leaking at the fitting. This is the hose from the compressor to the condenser. It eventually joins to the condenser via another steel tubing. I have searched the various forums and parts companies but I have trouble finding this hose. The Volvo dealer tells me that this has been replaced by a number of hoses which is even more confusing. I have attached a couple of photos.
91, 940 GLE,wagon, 16 valve

Can some help me locate the right hose/hoses.Summer is approaching.

Thanks Aleekat for the Rockauto.com source.
It looks like this part 55993 is for the hose from the compressor to the evaporator.

Ok..I also looked at 91 740 shows a discharge line.(part #55595) It may cross over. I would call them. Or call your local dealer and ask them for the part number.

Yes. The clue is "suction line."

While not a 900 guy, I'm reading the posts often, and have come away with the impression Spook's approach, going to a hydraulic shop, has been the most satisfying of all. The second alternative to the dealer, is the boneyard, but usually those cars came from a local source and are just as needy.

    Dear tklos,

Hope you're well. As a back-up, if you can't find the hose, you can have your hose "re-built". Shops that service hydraulic equipment (e.g., excavators) can cut-away the outer metal, that is crimped around the rubber. They weld a new metal sleeve to the metal fitting, insert a new hose, and re-crimp. Unless the fitting's threads are stripped - unlikely, as it would have leaked ever after - the leak likely is from a failed hose-to-fitting connection.

You might have to supply the hose (suitable for R-12 refrigerant, unless your car has been retro-fitted to take R134a). Even so, this re-build might cost less than factory-original hoses.

The dealer can't be of much help, as the parts diagram in Volvo VADIS - the now-superseded parts/service database - does not detail sufficiently the air conditioning pipes and hoses. The dealer might have to order a number of items, and hope that among them is the one you need.

I wish I could be more helpful.

    Yours faithfully,

    Spook
