Be aware there is a connector near the fan that can corrode and fail. That happened to mine. I bypassed the connector by splicing the wires.

Test the fan by supplying power straight to the fan side of the connector, i.e. open it up and jump wire to the fan side.

thank you, yes, I have replaced that connector with a splice and have applied power to the fan, it works, now trying to find the location of the relay,

OK We know the fan works-Good.

Between the battery and the coil there is a metal rail on the inside of the left fender, in fact it should be in front of the power supply point where the fan gets it's power. The fan relay should be there. If it is, remove it from the plug and try bridging the contacts to send power to the fan. if that works then you know the plug works and it is most likely the relay. Again it is a std 30Amp Bosch type relay and should be a stock item at any Auto Parts store (same type used in most aftermarket fog light kits).

Condenser fan meaning AC fan in front of radiator?

yes, the one that is there works but it is not getting power, I want to either run a new power wire or new wire and fan

OK The fan gets its power from the 12v panel on the left fender next to the coil but it runs thru a relay, and is tripped by the temp sensor in the lower rad hose.
So start by checking the +12v at the power feed left fender (the small flat black panel with the slip on cover) and if that is ok then trace to the relay and see if that is getting from the power feed AND from the trigger +12v (which comes friom the rad temp sensor).

You can just run a new +12v from the power panel and a +12v trigger from the rad temp sensor in lower hose and that should do it.

Stupid idea here...you DO have a lower rad hose sensor don't you? It is in a pipe between the rad and the block and is a simple wax temp sensor...if you don't have that then you may have to source one and install it.

hello Stoney, I am getting power to the block on the fender near the coil, any idea where the relay for this is located? thanks!

There are a series of relays on/at the left fender area clipped to a relay rail. It should be one of them.

Is there a pipe with a T filling in the lower radiator hose with 2 wires coming from the T? These are the wires to/from the temp sensor and when it closes it sends the "trigger" to the relay to feed +12V to the fan (big red wire).

The relay "should" be a std 30Amp Bosch-type relay available at any Auto Parts store.

Alos follow the wiring to/from the fan and look for cut/burnt/missing wiring. In fact if the T pipe isn't in the lower radiator hose you have an issue as there is nothing to sense when the coolant is too hot and therefore nothing to "send" a signal to the relay.

Dumb question...we are talking about the auxillary fan IN FRONT of the radiator and NOT an electric fan BEHIND the radiator to replace the belt driven fan?
