Blue interiors 900

Has anyone seen a 940 with a blue interior? I thought gray, tan, and black were the only options.

I went to look at a white wagon yesterday that had blue cloth seats. The car was supposedly a 95, but it had two fuel pumps and a metal sunroof.

I unfortunately didn't find anything more out about the car. As I was waiting for the owner to meet me at the car, I realized that it didn't have plates on it, so I called her and asked her how she expected me to test drive the car (in the city) with no plates. I thanked her for wasting my time, and drove home.

Anyway, blue seats? Was that an option??

I have seen 940s with blue interiors; what I haven't seen is a '95 with two fuel pumps and metal roof. In this case most likely the car was not a 1995, easy mistake to make.

Thanks everyone!

The search continues for a good 940 to replace my now crunched 242.

Yes, blue interiors were supplied in a few 940s. They are uncommon. I upgraded the blue interior door panels in my 740 with blue door panels from a 1994 NA 940.

Hi Jesse;

We did get blue interior 940s over here.

I understand the 95s went to the 960 style glass roof after the metal roofs ran out. It should have one fuel pump. The 1995 wiring diagram reflects one pump. And I never saw a 940 with anything other than gray or tan. A salvage job?

The showroom and options catalog mentions nothing abut interior color options and shows only gray or tan in the pictures.

VIN decoding is in the FAQ but that wouldn't help much with a salvage car, my guess.

Thanks for the info Tom!

I wonder if the 740s ever had blue interiors.. maybe they swapped them? Or maybe it was an overseas delivery car or something.

I didn't get a close look as it was behind a locked fence, and I left before the owner even arrived because it had no plates on it.

But now I'm curious about its interior.

Front seats can be swapped between the 900 and 700 series cars and the 700s did have blue. 940 seats are a lot more comfy, in my opinion. Wrong way swap?

"...overseas delivery car". Aren't they all? Not really, wife's 940 was made in Halifax, gray interior, BTW.
