get your front wheel bearings while supplies last 200

Volvo Branded OEM (dealer)
front wheel bearing kit part # 271391

has been discontinued (hooray for China mothership sinking volvo fleet parts)

not that many of us on brickboard use OEM volvo dealer parts anymore,
but 3 years ago they wanted 158$ for a bearing kit and now it lists for a reduced 52$ it was a good deal,
if your dealer has them in stock, I'd pick up a pair at 52$ it's a good price and they aren't able to order any more from the parts supplier.

get your front wheel bearings while supplies last (bearing trade numbers) 200

If you're looking for the specific bearing industrial trade numbers (to order them over the counter at Napa, AutoValue, Grainger, etc), check in my old post for the numbers. It even has then-current pricing for 2003 Volvo parts and Napa parts.

Hi,

Have you got a set of OEM ones on hand? Who is the manufacturer?

For some reason I am thinking FAG is.

I have FAG front wheel bearings in my stash in a Beck & Arnley box.

Can't remember exactly but they are either US made or Japanese made.

Travis

I'd think SKF.

It has been sometime since I bought those tapered wheel bearings sets from an industrial bearing house. I know they were not over fifty bucks per wheel and with the inner side V-groove seal. I am thinking more like 32 to 40 dollars is what I would like or expect to pay today.

Bearings took a couple big jumps in the last ten years. SKF expanded into the market even more and other makers dwindled with Japanese and Chinese competition.

I prefer Timken, SKF, or some Japanese brands like NTN since their quality has improved over the Chinese specials of the unknowns. SKF bought out Chicago Rawhide Seals but National and Timken are hanging tight. I wonder if their not one in the same?

You got me thinking I had better take the time to check my stash and price them sometime in the future.
Thanks,
Phil

Optimal, a German company I believe, makes bearing kits for the 240 now. They have a good reputation and make a quality product.
