I believe beginning today all 240's are at least 20 years old.

Hmm, My birthday is May 4th. The 200 Series birthday is May 5th. I drive a 200 series Volvo. I think there is some great cosmic connection there.

Thanks Art for the heads up.

    Fred

Thanks for the anniversary heads up...had to go and look on my '93 and realized I missed the 1/93 birthday date already! 20 yrs + and still going strong though. (enjoyed reading the Hemmings blog posts too)

Wow! How time flies...I just picked up another '84 245 GL for free, and it runs great. Needs the all too typical things fixed, but the body and interior are in good shape. Hard to believe this car is coming up on 30 years of age. Thanks for pointing this landmark out, Art.

    Cool, Art.

Your post inspired me to do some Googling. I liked this one:

As for your human timeline...I've managed most of them...we'll see how those last few work out!

    Neat! 200

I'll take your word for it. Was 5/5/1993 the date for the last "off the line" (assembled) or the last sold or . . . ?

I'll have to look up the date of manufacture on my black sedan, because I seem to recall it was 4/93 or 5/93. And I got it a new heater core for its birthday!

What is the date on your door sticker?

No date on door sticker just vin, plate in engine bay says 12/92. I came across the original sales guy who sold the car new his name is on the paper work. He said the car sat in the show room and yard and couldn't sell it as the new thing at the time was the new model.Eventually in 94 the had a lady looking for a 240 and the deal was done i bought it of her with 12,000 km best car i have ever had.
