How to upload photos using Brickpix 200

Hi all,

Here is a step by step how to upload your photos using Brickpix. Good luck. Load up your pictures here.

Step 1
Go to Brickpix

Click "add a new exhibit"

Click "browse" button

Step 4
Look for your image. I usually save them on my desktop. Please make sure you grab the right picture. :-)

Step 5
You need to copy this link, it's under "HTML".
First, click in the far left side of the window, you will see a line ticker, blinking...
Second, click & hold the button and then drag to your right, you want to make sure you grab the entire link. Keep dragging your mouse until you see "jpg'/>" The link is very long and not easy. I had to do several times. You will see it's highlighted in sky blue when you grab it.
Third, hit your copy button and then paste onto your message window.

For copy and paste for PC user
Control & C and Control & V

For copy and paste for Apple user
Apple & C and Apple & V


FYI, If you have a smartphone like IPhone/IPad, please turn off your global location switch off when you take a picture, that's how a thief can track you down.

    While this is a nice little tutorial for the uninitiated, it should be stated that a photo does not have to be in the BB gallery in order to post it here.

    If available elsewhere, it's best to link directly to the pic.

      Junk up the gallery?? Umm... there's a lot of junk there already!

      The problem is trying search for the gold in the junk. A better image search would be handy, but I'm sure time consuming to build!

      Plus, external hosts and users come and go. BB isn't going any where, for preservation absolutely put pictures on BB.

          It's a database of photos, not a book of the best photos. Search engines are how the gold is found, not paging through every single photo!

          Trying warn people off, even in a friendly way, not post "junk" photos is a bit ridiculous. One persons junk is another's gold.

          I find it hard to believe there really is that much "junk" in Brickpix considering how unfriendly photo posting process is. The few times I've gone browsing through Brickpix, it's relatively dense with good photos, usually the photo isn't the problem, it's the lack of description for the photo.

            Dan, my complaint is against those who copy photos that are readily available on the internet and then upload them to the gallery when they could just link to the damn photo.

            I am not trying to filter or censor content or dictate what people should post.

                I have never, in this discourse, stated that pertinent images should not be uploaded.

                On the other hand, I don't search the BB Archives, via search engine, looking for a particular type of photo nor do I comb through the archive image by image.

                That is an assumption that someone else has made. I understand why someone might think this.

                My complaint is about people, not images or the ability to find them easily. But I can't control behavior.

                I can gripe about it, though. Not that it does any good.

      I agree with this assessment: Don't clutter up the gallery. If the pic truly belongs in the gallery or may be a useful tech pic to someone then by all means...

      On the other hand, there are lots of free pic hosting services: tinypic, photobucket, etc... if you want to upload gobs of pics.
