700 and 900 e-code swap photos 900 1993

finally did the e-code install to my 945 yesterday. Went pretty smoothly, and am quite pleased with the results. RepairmanJackal's thread
Convert US-Spec w/o Fogs to E-Code? has tons of good info on the process and the parts needed, I'm sharing my photos in the hope that they will supplement the existing info and encourage others to perform this upgrade.

only snag I had was with the corner lamp bulb holders. Neither the US market 940 ones nor some later ones (from a 960? and 850? who knows) would fit the european housings. I ended up wrapping electrical tape around the sockets to buld them up enough so the ears would do their job and hold the socket to the housing when rotated.

Ok, so that is outstanding. !!!

My corners did take a US bulb holder, but now I'm not sure which I used. It may be that the fog-type US corner uses a different holder than the non-fog corner.
What brand lights are you using? OEM, or DJ Auto?

DJ Auto. The back (grey) portions of the corner light housing were obviously a lower-quality casting than anything Volvo would use, so it's entirely possible that the US holders WOULD fit if the quality control was a bit better.

That said, I just went on fcpgroton's site and discovered they offer two different corner light sockets for 940's:
      3518271 for cars with fogs
      3518998 for cars without fogs

So obviously I should have harvested sockets from foglight cars at the junkyard when I was getting the grille, switch, relay, etc...
