Antenna Hook up 900

I am replacing the left rear glass on a '93 wagon, going from a glass without imbedded antenna to one with the imbedded antenna.

The new glass has a small attached box in which the antenna lead is to be plugged and in addition there is an electrical plug with two prongs that I am at a loss as to what it does.
Does anybody know what its function would be, and where it goes to?

No clue ow to answer your question but would love to hear your experience removing the glass from the post '93 940/960 and re-install. It is Butyl rubber or adhesive that holds the glass in? Did you use piano wire like with a windshield?

Well, the mystery of the impossible glass adhesive is solved: aftermarket installation!

The s#$% for brains glass installer had used windshield (hard silicone) sealant instead of the butyl tape. Also, he had tucked in the left molding behind the glass lip which makes it impossible to remove the molding without destroying it.
Lesson confirmed, "do it yourself, or watch them like a hawk", otherwise who knows what you are gonna get for the "meager" $100 an up an hour everybody seems to think they are worth these days!

You sure he did not use polyurethane? That is the hardest to remove and until recently reserved for "structural" windshields. Not days they are using it for all fixed glass on new cars.

I love butyl tape. so easy to work with and so forgiving.

Let me know how it all works after. I am tired of the stupid electric antenna.

Funny thing: the glass I got from the junk yard came from a 1995, and came very easily; no special tools needed.

Now, my 1993 has a very hard sealant I am having tough time cutting through it to get the glass off. Even worse, the upper and left moldings seem to be attached under the glass somehow and are not coming off cleanly at even though I waited for the car to be nice and hot under the sun but the sealant is not nearly as soft as the one I encountered on the donor car...
