92 240 CHECK ENGINE LIGHT/NEW DOWNPIPE 200 1992

Hi all--

I just installed a new down pipe and am now getting a check engine light. I retrieved the codes and they're 1-1-3 (fuel injectors) and 2-3-2 (Lambda adjustment). I have noticed the engine to be running a little rough at idle. I had no check engine light before replacing the down pipe.

During the installation of the down pipe, I tried to be careful to not interfere with the O2 sensor (on mine it is installed directly into the catalytic converter--I have an aftermarket IPD cat). But since I had to shear off the old mounting bolts between the old downpipe and the cat (using an angle grinder) I'm thinking that some debris might have fouled the sensor and is causing the rough idle and is causing the check engine light.

Problem is, new O2 sensors ain't cheap--so I want to be reasonably sure about the diagnosis before I make the plunge and buy a new O2 sensor in an effort to correct the system.

Any thoughts about this diagnosis of the check engine light?

your o2 sensor is likely bad
and on the contrary they are cheap

this is the universal o2 sensor i have used for years on all 240's that come my way.

simply cut the connector off and used butt connectors and a quality crimping tool to splice it into the existing harness

for 15 bucks and 20 minutes you're done
