Anyone with an M46 or M47 in their 122? 120-130

Hello All,

Just saw a p1800 here in PA with an M47. Guy is getting car set up for racing, but it's a weekend driver now. He had it installed buy a Volvo guy who has since moved out west.

I would love having OD in the car, but I am thinking about cost. An M41 set up would cost me a ton of $ not to mention shipping. I can find an m46 or m47 locally for next to nothing.

thoughts please!

cheers!

Adapting a M46/47 will cost you a bunch more than a rebuilt M41. Trust me on this...

And if you did do it you wouldn't like the gear ratio's.
First is way too low, long.

Truly, just get an original OD unit in good shape and pay the man. There is a ton of screwing around to do anything different.

Wait... Why even bother?

You live in PA. I can bet that Joe Lazenby has a rebuilt M41 with the the prop shaft and the works and he is in Harrisburg.

Then of course there is Duane Matejka, he could set you up with something custom, if you wanted the M47, but then you would probably need a different driveshaft and don't forget a special bellhousing. http://teamrsport.com

Hello All,

Thanks lukeball for the link and details!
I've called Joe a few times, and haven't gotten through yet. I've had great success with Joe. I often worry he has gone and sold the business. I'll try him again this week.

Cheers,

Joe is still in business. I bought a B20 from him in the spring and sold him some pistons. Right now I am waiting on some parts in a cargo container that he purchased from Sweden. Try calling him again during business hours or sending him an email.
