Need to know spacer size?. Snow Tires from a V70 to a 240.. 200 1990

Hello again. I've located some nice snow tires from my brother. From a 2001 V70 wagon 195/65/15.. And I'd like to put them on my '90 245 wagon OE size 195/75/14... He's thinking a 1/4" or 1/2" spacer is needed. V70 Steel rims are on the tires, and ready to go.. Can anyone help on this?

You have to know the offset of the wheel you're mounting. If it's a genuine Volvo alloy wheel, it will be stamped on the inner side preceded by the letters "ET".

The 240 wheel has a 20mm offset (e.g., "ET20"). Ideally, you want spacers that are the difference in offset between the two kinds of wheels.

Spacers should be about 20-25mm to achieve the correct wheel offset. Much less and you are likely going to have rubbing of the inner side of the tires on suspension parts.

Try to get ones that are properly machined to allow hub-centric mounting. And with spacers that thick, you will probably need extended length lugs.
