    That is a fine achievement and apparently was the guy's goal right from the time he bought the car. I'm very familiar with his route and must say it's a pretty easy life for any car. Firstly, California's "Central Coast" has a very moderate climate, and secondly the 101 Freeway runs right through his home town and his work destination so his daily round trip of about 170mi was 99% highway, mainly flat, and not much traffic, so steady speeds.

    But again, heck of an achievement and speaks to his Volvo's build quality and his level of maintenance.

    The news outlet missed the chance to mention Irv Gordon's Volvo, which is now something north of 3 million miles!

    I am at 270k, but have seen a few 740s on CL for sale in the 300k range. Most folks do not keep these cars long enough to get to 1Mn miles.
