sunroof 900

The below is in 3 parts, broken into as things developed.
I later realized that when working on the visor that I may have/did lean on the open front edge of the sunroof. It appears that has misaligned something in the front so the back is affected.

So I took my best visor, cleaned it up, got some allweather double sided tape, and cleaned off the two small mounting bolts and got the little rubber bushings that go between the two clips on the sides and the bottom of the visor.
I put the extra wide tape on all the way around and used my razor knife to slice it as the mounting surface is 1/3 the tape size. I re-rolled the extra tape to use on another visor on my other car.
I measured the clip position carefully and did several test fittings so I made sure it was even.
I put it on and the tape sealed perfectly all the way around. If you don't know, if you only use the clips, if any air gets under the leading edge the visor becomes a wing. Ask me how I know.
So; all good, time for a test drive to check wind noise.
Eh, with the sunroof closed it's maybe a bit noisier. Ok, check with it open, vent position. Not bad... check with sunroof open.... open... open.... No. The sunroof, which always worked perfectly, does not open. And now it's totally stuck in the vent up position.
When pressing the button you can hear the motor click, but that's it. No movement of any kind.
WTF?

Edit; the only thing involving the sunroof that I did, was to open it most of the way so I could put the clips on the sides. Then I closed it, which it did fine.

Re-edit; I got it closed. I kept tapping at the switch and it did move in small pieces. Then the left rear corner was not going all the way down, so I tapped it into place. It seemed very tight, like it was too far back on that side, but it looks correct. Anyway, it then slid back, and forward. But now there are tiny scratches in the paint on the left rear.
It still does not work smoothly up and down and that left rear does not sit correctly unless I persuade it.

I'm not sure how similar the 700s and 900s are but:
Tilt up the rear. Look in the back side and you'll see 2 clips attached to the sliding headliner. Release the clips. Pull the headliner rearward to expose the mechanisms. Put the roof back down. Front two brackets, adjustment screws to loosen and raise/lower the front of the roof. On each side you will see the actual mechanism that drops the roof and lets it slide rearward. Also couple screws that adjust the height of the rear of the roof.

If yours looks nothing like that, maybe someone with a 900 can chime in.
