Gluing ports on air intake hose? 200 1991

Anyone had any luck gluing the ports (plastic fittings for IAC and flame trap) on the air intake hose (hose between MAF and throttle body)?

I've (many times) used glue-sealer on the accordion part and taped it to get by for a few months (or a couple of years).

But I've never tried to glue/seal one of the ports. This one is loose for 1/4". It's being pulled open by the strain from the IAC hose - which I find is a common problem.

I've got multiple hoses with good bellows but loose fittings. Recommendations on type/brand of sealer?

Also, how do folks test? I've tried closing off ends with saran wrap and rubber bands but this won't hold air. I probably need to make metal plugs for each end and clamp tightly.

I would try another old hose for the material and a pencil type soldering iron. Melt/weld together all you need to strengthen those right angle thin spots with a radius.

Practicing the melding thing can be a little smelly though! Use plenty of ventilation!
