I am having a really hard time finding a replacement for the passenger side exterior trim piece that goes below the two doors on a 1996 960 Wagon.

I am looking for any hints or tips on where I might get one. Are there salvage yards that specialize in Volvo anywhere?

You live in Cary, NC, so indicateth your brickboard profile.

I imagine you'd have a host of Volvo equipped salvage yards not too far from you.

You may consider whether the passenger side trim piece you want matches and exists on the late U.S. 940s. (Sadly, last 940 year was 1995 for the Americas.) I'll guess the appearance is at variance between the 1991-1995 940 and 1996 960/90. The trim piece may not vary at all between sedans and wagons.

You could contact a Cary, NC salvage yard. Better if they host Europa-brand imports. They may post inventory online by car make and model whether self or full service.

The auto salvage yard may still network so you can contact one locally, and they can find the trim piece you want.

If you have time, and find a mid to late 1990s 960/90 series in a salvage yard at an acceptable driving distance, you may find the trim piece. A self-service salvage yard at some driving distance may look for you, record the image, and let you know how much time you have before they recycle (crush) the car.

Hope you're well. I do not believe that door sill trim will interchange between 940s and 960s. If color is not an issue, there should be interchange between 1995 and later 960s, as well as S/V 90s.

Most salvage yards and connected, so an inquiry made to one yard can be sent to many. To be sure the right part it sent, it is needful to have a detailed description (including the specific color) and - if possible - a part number.
