Electrical short on fuse 10 power windows 200 1985

As title says fuse 10 for the power windows shorts as soon as I turn the ignition on.. Fuse gets hot then blows... Power windows have never given me any problems... So before I start pulling door panels of to find a short I'd thought I'd run this by you electric Guru's.... My car is a 1985 245...Thanks all...

I've got the greenbook wiring diagram for 85, but it isn't clear on the location of two connectors that are key to isolating the door where the short is.

But if these were my symptoms (and I've never had them) I would first make up a test light to substitute for the fuse, rather than blowing fuses to troubleshoot. Then I would turn the key on and shake the bellows through which the wires pass in the door jam starting with the most often used door, the driver's door.

My guess is the wire is chafed where it enters the left front door. It is a red wire. TP30808 is the wiring diagram you can find on k-jet.org on page 119-120.

What engineers say and what they mean by it:
    "Risk is high, but acceptable."
100 to 1 odds, or with 10 times the budget and 10 times the manpower, we may have a 50/50 chance.
