Pressure differential switch repair 700 1987

Of course brake light came on, checked the switch, plunger and spring.
Cleaned mild corrosion no change.

Did the gravel road lock up test, confirmed only one front and one rear locked up. Working like it should.

Wondering if 272702-2 kit (found on posts for 240's) is correct for 740's

Also thinking about disassembling, cleaning and replacing O-rings? Has anyone tried this?

Have also replaced brake fluid every 50K. Currently at 625,000 or one million kilometers.

Tom

Had a free day so ripped into it. Not quite as bad as it appears for access.

This valve was aluminum so corrosion was at a minimum. The sliding sleeve that contacts the pin to light the brake light was seized and had to be driven out (very carefully)

Polished the bore ID and the sliding sleeve until it would move freely. Cleaned the spring, spring seats, plungers and brass plunger guides. Made sure the annulus on the sliding sleeve was centered to prevent contact with the pin.

Reused all the O-rings except for the switch. Bled the brakes went for a test drive. No brake warning light and no leaks, so far!
