Does anyone know if the stainless steel Magnaflow cats are indeed stainless steel throughout (except for the innards of course) or only partially stainless? I'm tired of buying aftermarket exhaust parts that rust away after a few years.

Just the heat shield?! Big freakin' deal!

What about the pipes? Does anyone make such a cat for a reasonable price? The cat I have now is still good but the pipes are breaking apart.

While you won't find a cat that will last as long as the original, all cats carry a five year warranty as per federal regulation. I just went through this same search for my car and ended up getting a Bosal. I wasn't really happy about that but that is all I could find. FCP lists a cat as an OEM part but it is a Bosal as well.

Magnaflow's website says that their cats have a lifetime supply. I wonder if that applies only to the honeycomb innards of the cats or the adjoining pipes.

Answer: Yes, all our Cat-Back Exhaust Systems are completely made from stainless steel. Everything from the pipes, hangers, clamps, muffler and tips. *Tips, mufflers, and resonators (where applicable) are "mirror finish", polished stainless steel. Stainless steel is better looking and more durable than aluminum.

They list it as OEM because thats what the Stealership will sell you as well.
