240 PCV 200

I have a '84 240 wagon with 350k-ish. I did the 'Robert DIY' test for my PCV system and it failed. It involves holding a glove on the open oil filler while the engine is running. If the PCV system is working the glove gets sucked flat; if the system is clogged the glove inflates. My glove inflated. I pulled off all the PCV components and made sure they were clean and free and I cleaned the throttle body making sure all the little ports were clear as well. It didn't fix it. I haven't had a problem with oil seeping out past the seals and the dipstick hasn't popped out either. I put this all before the congregation; do I have a problem or not and if I do what should I do about it? PS I changed the oil and filter while I was fiddling with the car.

What was the reason for the test?

Curiosity. The car is old and high mileage.

replace the oil separator. they clog and don't flow well. no amount of cleaning or soaking will change that. good luck, chuck.

Chuck is on the right path.

We have the oil separator available at IPD:

If you still have excessive pressure after cleaning out the PCV system, it means your piston rings are probably worn and no longer sealing.
