I want to thank all those on here who were helpful to me with my Volvo problems.
The car has now been sold to a collector 2500 miles from me in another Prov.
Being female and 81 yrs of age I could not drive a stick anymore. (knee problems)
Most of you I am grateful to, but there is always one who has to be sarcastic and him I will ignore. I am sure most of you are on here to be helpful even when I advertise to sell it not knowing fully how to go about it, but now it has a new and grateful home. It is in in beautiful shape and now is much appreciated.

"The car has now been sold to a collector 2500 miles from me in another Prov."
If "Prov" means province, then I'll assume you live in a Canadian province somewhere.

"Most of you I am grateful to, but there is always one who has to be sarcastic and him I will ignore. I am sure most of you are on here to be helpful even when I advertise to sell it"
I checked your previous post (Sep 2015) to figure out who you meant. If it is AB, let me assure you he probably is THE most helpful person on this site. Check his posts. I think he might even be around your age.

Your posts were not informative and your profile gave no clue as to where you are located. People, at minimum, would like to know if the prospective vehicle is nearby.

"Being female and 81 yrs of age I could not drive a stick anymore. (knee problems)"
For many older people, a car provides them with freedom. If you are otherwise healthy, I suggest you keep your license and get an automatic. Don't become housebound, even in winter.

Trev, I have met* Art and he is a fit and energetic youngster, compared to an 81-yr-old.

*(I travelled 4000km to say hello. Well, actually my daughter's wedding was close to his town, so I couldn't miss a chance to meet our BB guru.)

Art has been around a long time (since 2000, over 13000 posts). His knowledge and wisdom suggests an "elder" but by no means inactive nor feeble.

"I travelled 4000km ...to meet our BB guru."
So does he live on top of a mountain and has a long white beard?

No it was not AB and I imagine he is very helpful and I was not sure how or what I was supposed to put on here. I have no idea where he may come from and being in Canada not sure how many people would come this far to pick it up. I put it on Kijiji and got over 20 responses. The one who got it is far West of me but he is a collector and has an automatic of same year. It was not easy to let it go after 27 years. I had numerous pictures to send to people but I don't know how to do it on here. We kept it rust free and always garaged. Not even a dent so he is quite happy and seats were always covered. Changed the oil twice a year even when it went 500k a year. I did not ask much just wanted to let it go because of lack of
use. Thank all who have responsed to my messages.

Hi Pat,
Are you going to be getting a 240 with an automatic transmission now?

I agree with you about being attached to a Volvo 240. We have had our 1990 240 sedan since new and have been elated with it's durability at 350K. I have personally maintained the car myself for over 25 years and about the only thing I did not do myself was to replace the rear engine seal because the AW70 automatic transmission & alignments that I could not move on my own. The car is just wonderful about the only problem now is the rust situation from living in Northern Wis..

I'm sure it was a sad day for you. It is amazing how we can get attached to machines. I think most 240 owners are very attached to their cars. My wife certainly enjoys hers.
