Anyone have the part number for AC compressor upper bracket bolt? 900 1993

Hi folks, it's been a long time since I've posted here - mostly because after owning 940s for 15 + years, I seem to be able to manage most procedures in my sleep now!

But now I have a problem with my AC compressor. No matter how much I tension the belt and secure the tensioner and lower mounting bolts after I do so, there's still enough play there that the belt slips and squeals on the clutch. I realize there is another bolt on the upper bracket of the compressor that has fallen off, and which helps really secure the compressor to the bracket. Might anyone have the part number of this little beastie? As far as I can remember, it had a pancake head and the top of the shaft is square to slot into the bracket and hold everything together tightly. Thanks!

Anyone have the part number for AC compressor upper bracket bolt? 900 1993

    Hi,

Square neck bolt (labelled 9) part #986916
Flange lock nut for above bolt (labelled 11) part #985868

    See:
    http://www.volvopartswebstore.com/showAssembly.aspx?ukey_assembly=239362&ukey_make=865&ukey_model=20180&modelYear=1993&ukey_category=7876&ukey_driveLine=394&ukey_trimLevel=24652

    Check also:
    1. If your drive belt is old and glazed - may need replacement.
    2. If the ac clutch is able to spin by hand - if not you may have overcharged the system if any charging done recently or your AC compressor is about to seize (loss of lubrication from frequent leaks and topping R134a up without adding compressor oil).

    Regards,
    Amarin.

Wow - thanks Amarin! This is brilliant, what a resource! Yes, the compressor still turns just fine and the belt is new - just not enough grab. I think I'll replace the bushings while I'm in there to get everything nice and tight. Very much appreciated! -B
