Gauge Needle Color 200

I need to repaint two of the gauge needles on my 93 240. Does anyone know what the correct color is, and where I might obtain some? Thanks in advance!

    Gauge Needle Color 200

I don't know the official answer to your question and I highly doubt you can find out from any official Volvo source. Perhaps VDO, but I'm thinking you'd be awfully lucky.

In your position I would just grab my can of fluorescent orange spray paint (Krylon, Walmart) and give it a try. As faded as some of these gauge pointers are, it could not hurt. You might want to visit a hobby shop though, where I remember Testor's had a selection of paints for models and such. Or am I living in the past?

I wonder if those color-matching scanners can focus on a needle?

      The Past is Present! 200

      I have done this.

Art is correct. Go to any hobby store where scale model kits are sold. You'll find a large selection of model paint in oil based (testors) and acrylic (tamiya). Those are the 2 main brands, but there are others.

There are different shades of "bright orange" or "fire red" and such that you can try. I can't remember the color I used to repaint my needles a few years ago. You won't get the color exactly matched, but the best looking option in that case is to paint all your needles. Also, pay attention to the finish - again, I can't recall exactly, but I think I used "satin".

You could also try asking VDO to at least inquire about obtaining a factory finish.
