Help! 25 amp fuse wire is off 200 1990

I am stranded and need some help.
A few months ago I had to replace the 25 amp fuse holder. My car turns over but no start. I checked under the hood and one of the ends of the fuse is off. Where does both ends of that fuse line go?

I cant answer your question but I will share this: I had that fuse fail on me many years back. Got the car towed to my mechanic. Now I know many of you might say this is a "bad idea",but the mechanic hard-wired that area, bypassing that fuse. He mentioned there are other areas that serve to do the same thing and that 25 amp fuse is redundant, in his opinion. He said he has done it many times and there's never ever been any problem with it ever, as there has never ever been any problem with mine. Well who knows, maybe after 50 years it might "screw up", but so far so good. For those who say that's a "bad idea", well you are also entitled to your opinions. (12 years later, I still say, so far so good).

Personally, I reccomend you do it the "right way", Im just relaying my experience.

Bottom line, has anyone actually had this fuse blow? What circuit does it actually monitor and protect?

The in-line 25 AMP fuse holder protects the battery to the connected loads of:
- Fuel System (Pump) Relay
- Bosch LH-Jet (fuel & emissions) Controller
- Bosch EZK (ignition & emissions) Controller

A disastrous design, to be sure, at 26 years out or earlier, out of the factory.

Our dear Uncle Art Benstein helps us, please see: http://cleanflametrap.com/emfuse.html

Also, iPd USA offers solution: http://www.ipdusa.com/products/5731/102452-watertight-fuse-holder (You can find these fuse holders elsewhere, yet iPd USA makes it easy with this simple kit.)

one end goes to the + battery --- a small red wire coming off the clamp.
(if your are facing it at the fender--- to the Left)...OFF THE BATTERY

the other goes ( to the Right) into a sleeve heading to the firewall

Thanks! Well then what is the relay on the rail closest to the firewall. From the front there is the headlight dip relay, the positive power junction the 25 amp fuse and then some black relay. Any idea? It doesn't plug into that does it?

Yes. It does indeed plug in to the box on the left. But when it falls off people just wire it to the battery post clamp, where the battery acid gets it next time.

The battery side is connected it is the right side that is off. Where does it go?

Solved! 200 1990

I went ahead and bought a new 25amp fusible link and took a guess and hooked to that relay to the right of the positive junction and it fired right up.
