Hey to all, I tried pro source for a windshield but the price was $265.00 boxed and shipped. The glass shop wants another 150.00 to install. Is there a cheaper place to get the glass? The Volvo dealer says they are no longer available. Any help would be great. Thanks Larry

Suggest VP Autoparts at www.vp-autoparts.com: they have clear and tinted windshield for about $170, and LOTS of other stuff.

My only experience with a windshield R&R was on a Morris Minor a couple years ago. Unfortunately the new rubber seal was slightly oversize, (too thick) which resulted in breaking the glass. A painful lesson, but next time I'll be sure to buy from a vendor with a good track record for selling parts that fit RIGHT. I'm thinking about replacing the windshield in my 122, so if anyone knows where to get the best parts, please pass it along.

try planetman, or maybe he will answer this. But $250 delivered sounds about right. Easy install though. BTW probably need a new rubber as well.

That's a fair price. Yes you need a new rubber and no it's not that easy to install. Need a tool for the chrome strip or its quite a job.

Volvo still sells a clear windshield and list price is $231.09.

If you want tinted, you have to go to the aftermarket and that will cost $163.33, but with shipping will cost a little more than the Volvo due to the extra cost of shipping.

In both cases, I usually can supply the windshield and make a little money if you will order through me.

$150.00 is not too high if they are removing and installing the windshield and trim.

I like to remove the windshield myself for several reasons, 1 being my installer charges less if all he has to do is install the windshield and sealant.

Thanks for the reply. The dealer here in Hampton Va. says they are indefinitely on back order which means he cannot get them. Maybe I need to call another Volvo dealer. I am waiting for a glass guy of a friend to get back with me maybe he can help me. I already have a new gasket. The idea of taking it out is not a problem. The gasket that is on the car is a new one that doesn`t fit tight. I have help that can probably just push it out. Getting the right parts is a problem most of the time because there is so much junk for sale. The gasket I have bought to replace it is a chrome trim delete one that came from Swedish Treasures, hopefully it will fit right. I`ll post back when I get it put in. I may try to get the glass thru ya Eric if I can`t find one here. Thanks Larry
