'90 240 LR window wont work, tested motor, new switches

Stumped on my 245. Real left window not working, replaced both switches front and back, put 12v to the motor and they went up and down...I was really hoping they wouldnt work so I could swap them out and be done.

Looking at the diagram, I cant find any solution for this problem. Both switches have different hot wires coming in and continue to other switches (which work) so it couldnt be that, and if the other two wires were bad in the front switch then the back switch should still work (and vice versa).

Any ideas?

After looking at Arts post - the lockout switch might be bad?

Usually it is the switches. If you indeed replaced them with new, or verified they worked using a test light or other means, the window could be dead going both up and down if the yellow wire were broken in the left rear door jamb. Pull on it, and you'll see there's nothing left but insulation keeping it one piece.

I changed my iPod's name to Titanic. It's syncing now.

Thanks for the reply. If that were the case, wouldnt the front switch still work? The front switch is getting power from a different wire than the rear.

No, the switches are in series. Here's a map.

If you're sure your switches are not the trouble, you'll be pulling the section of harness going through the rubber sleeve in the rear door jamb. I show you below an example with the symptom "window goes up but not down."

I stayed up all night to see where the sun went, and then it dawned on me.
