Oil change mystery 700 1990

Changed the oil on the B324 16v. Four quarts synthetic. Used a blend last before.

It did not show on the stick at all initially... set for an hour and I am fairly certain there is oil below the crosshatch.

Used full synthetic... no leaks anywhere. Only change is I got stuck here at the house with the longer B230t filter. The 16v uses the shorter filter, same as my 240.

Is synthetic that clear it is hard to see on stick?
or..
Has using the longer filter required more oil, thus requiring me to add a bit?

Thanks

Oil change mystery 700 1990

Added a bit of oil.. so it is a bit over 4 qrts.

It brought it about 1/4 into the hatch area. The filter must hold a bit more.
