740 GLE valve cover gaskets - portion around plug recesses? 700 1989

89 B234F GLE 16-valve

I'm working on getting a new valve cover gasket because of leaks with mine where the spark plug wells are.

The big box stores don't include the 2nd gasket that goes between the spark plug recesses and the valve cover. Is there a separate part name or number for it? I see IPD has a valve cover gasket *set* that includes it, as does Napa, but those are the only ones I see.

Anyone run across this before?

Happy Bricking

Just an update, I found it listed incorrectly as part of an intake manifold gasket set.

Oreilly (formerly Kragen et al) has it in stock as Fel-Pro - Intake Manifold Gasket Set
    Line: FEL | Part # MS95263

    Also available through Napa.

I bought mine from FCP Groton or Eeuroparts.. can't recall which.
    Had all the parts.

If I am doing something that I do not want to do again, I get the best parts I can get.

In your case, I would go to a real parts store, not even a chain - someone that provides parts for local repair shops.

Actually, my dealer gives me a discount (like VOCA) and I find that small parts are within reason.

I agree with going to a dealer in some situations. I bought that very gasket online - either fcp or europarts, don't remember which - and what I got was old and dried out, crumbled apart when I took it out of the box.

I wound up going to a local dealer where I got to inspect the gasket before I bought it.
