Delo 200

Does anyone here have experience with Chevron Delo in a B23/B230F? I have heard good things about it but it looks like it is designed for fleet and diesel vehicles.

Walmart sometimes has it on sale for 12.99 a gallon jug.

Any problem running this for 7,500 miles?

Thanks.

I have run Delo 10W30 for many years and miles. I have a 5 gallon pail in my stash. IMO dual rated oils (CJ-4/SM) are an economical, excellent oil for the Redblock. HTHSVis 3.5 - 3.6, zinc and phos > 1,000 ppm, excellent AW, AF and ability to suspend contaminants, high base numbers. I buy Delo, Rotella, VPB, Delvac, Petroleum-Canada Duron, Cam2 based on price. Delo 10W30 is an excellent choice. I do not know how it will perform at 7,500 mile OCI's. I run 4-5,000 mile OCI's, with excellent UOA.

Hi Chuck Frost,

A current article, or thread, titled, has this entry on Chevron Delo:

Which type of engine oil do you prefer? 900

If you use the search feature and enter Delo, you find innumerable articles / threads that treat the topic of Chevron Delo oils.

If you have concern about the catalytic converter, I'm unsure, yet may have read that motor oils meant more for diesel engines contain more ZDDP additive. ZDDP may not be good for the catalytic converter. I'm unsure. As it appears oil manufacturers add less and less ZDDP, at least to passenger auto motor oils.

Else, hope other can help you. And try the brickboard search feature.

I would also imagine, as I'd hoped to ply my trade in such capacity, yet never did, that products sold for transportation fleet care would be of the same or similar quality than that you get at the auto store or discount retailer.

Hope that helps.
