Yep, $4001 as of now.
Add to that the 700-1500 in parts and consumables.
And I'll guess someone from the country club can pay 90-150$ labor. That's okay, rest assured some fee-building in there.
Though in that video, he majors on the minor with interior bits. Not the larger issues that loom for the next owner. Of course not.
No worries as my 240s sit outdoors, rotting. Clear coat failure accelerating in sloe-gin motion. Rust advancing.
Yet all three clutches are perfectly adjusted. With a teeny amount of extra free play over factory spec. I am always grateful to drive them and gently and civily shift the M47 from gear to gear. Emissions controls work fine. Great tune.
Yet when you can feel prior owner abuse of the M47 synchros, certainly on the green clear-coat failing 1992 GL, when the gear tooth came out with the silver-laced waste oil vomit in 2008, all the amsoil SuperShift or redline MTL does not heal the prior abuse. Makes for smooth shifts, usually. They are all quiet, though, through all gears, even under load (acceleration) and overrun (coast).
Gosh darn it. Dag nab it. Dang it.
Wants garage. Big garage. With a vice with little anvil on a bench. Well lit. Or sells them and gets a Camry. Who can afford a 2012 Camry?
Welp, I guess someone will pay 9000$+ for that 1989 240 Wagon in a few days. Sort of wish I could.
Or that dream 1972 Volvo 164.
Happy Friday.
Grumpy and Cantankerous Boyeeeee.
