Though you may want to restore a ground wire using a durable wire through the hinge or routed cable. Hinges may not make good grounds.
Also, look at your hinges sideways on. A rear side of the hinge (secured to rear hatch) that sets below the front side (secured to roof) may require replacement. The hinge pin pulls through the hinge material causing the rear hatch to sag, and the rear hatch bottom lip to drag on metal threshold; a cause for rust.
